Teacher ReTool

Teacher ReTool - a prototype of an experiment

Denver, Colorado July 29 - 31, 02024

Hosted by Paul Kim + Tom Thorpe, Co-Founders of the REDI Lab

School should not be one-size-fits-all – for you or your students.

Like you, we are classroom teachers. We know teaching is hard work. We know it can be both rewarding and frustrating. You juggle a lot of demands as you make magic in your classroom. Launch your year using design thinking processes to reorient and rediscover meaning and joy in our work as teachers. Spaces are limited for this learning opportunity. Early bird registration ends July 4th! See below for more details.

In 2018, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “The pace of change has never been this fast, yet it will never be this slow again.” In this context, we will engage in identity, equity, and futures work as well as explore artificial intelligence and learning design to recapture the great potential of our classrooms and grow our instructional practices.

Imagine classrooms where teachers and students thrive together. Let’s work to make this a reality for you. This experimental professional development opportunity isn't about box ticking. It's about empowering you with agency + design.

You're bombarded with initiatives, pressured to fit students into a mold. But what if we told you there's a better way? Design Thinking isn't just for tech companies. It's a powerful framework for educators to use in a variety of ways in their work.

We hope you will join us in this immersive experience and help us build a creative learning community. During your time in the Mile High City, you will work through facilitated challenges, respond to mini lectures, and share your ideas for feedback. At the end of our time together, you will have:

  • a design thinking toolkit + an understanding of how to apply it in your work

  • strategies to build stronger classroom culture

  • a network of teachers who you can engage throughout the year, and

  • most importantly, a greater sense of agency as a teacher and human being

By design, we will be a small, focused cohort so spots are limited. This is your invitation to become the architect of a classroom where both you and your students thrive. REGISTER NOW.
